4-level capacitor controller
Installation of 4-level capacitor controller
- Introduction What is a compensator and capacity compensating capacitor reactive
I/ Installing the capacitor controller:
- Implement measurement and cut the dynamic cable to connect the main power supply for the compensation cabinet system, connect the signal transformer to the automatic controller,
- this current transformer takes the total current signal of the station the convention of taking the total current signal of the red phase calculated from the total MCCB of the compensator cabinet to the total MCCB of the station.
- Implementing the secondary connection to supply power to the control circuit (compensation cabinet normally outputs 3 control signal wires: 2 of 3 wires are wires that take signals from TI to supply current signals to BDKs with a cross section of 2.5 mm2. (usually use red, yellow, blue),
- the other wire is the neutral wire that supplies power to the control circuit with a cross section of 1.5mm2, usually green or black).
The cabinet grounding uses bare copper to ground the cabinet with the station ground (usually the control circuit’s neutral wire is connected to the cabinet’s grounding, except in the case of 3-phase network with neutral and isolated PE) .
II/ Power on operation:
- After connecting the power and control, check the connection points at MCCB poles and bases…
- Make sure that these positions are tightened to avoid discharge due to bad contact between MCCB poles, contactor, capacitor.
- Close the fuse to control the power supply to the switchboard, the meter indicator light .
III/ Parameter setting (for 4-level capacitor controller SK ):
1. New features :
- Automatically change polarity of current transformer (C.T.).
- Automatically avoids repeated switching (i.e. no C/K factor needed).
- Allows to set the closing delay time and cutting delay time separately
- easily compensate for continuously varying loads.
2. Wiring method :
Wiring according to the following diagram :
3. Operation Description:
- When be grant electricity, set things control will active dynamic at processing degrees self dynamic. The screen will display the cos ϕ value of the load or display o C if not loading.
- The controller will compare treatment number cos ϕ of sub download with the price treatment pre-programmed cut-off and on-off thresholds to conduct compensating on/off.
- The Delaying light will blink when the controller is in the process of closing/cutting the compensator according to the programmed on/off delay.
- Capacitor levels are switched on/off in the order of rotation.
- Yes can transfer sang processing degrees close cut equals hand (to try contactor, capacitor…) by pressing [ Mode/Prog. button. ] about 0.5 seconds. The Manual light will light up. Capacitor can now be closed/cut off by pressing button [ _ ] / [ _ ]
- Return to auto mode by pressing the [ Mode/Prog. ] about 0.5 seconds.
4. Programming parameters :
- Press the [ Mode/Prog. ] for about 2 seconds, the controller will enter programming mode.
- The display will display the parameters A, b, C, d, and the setting values 1, 2, 3, 4 corresponding to those parameters.
- Press the [ Mode/Prog. ] to select parameters A, b, C, d.
- Press the [ _ ] or [ _ ] button to select a value of 1 or 2 . . . for each parameter.
+ Closing threshold A: Parameter A determines the closing threshold of the controller.
Choose 1 of 3 values according to the following table:
- A-1 : Close threshold cos = 0.85 feelings
- A-2 : Closing threshold cos = 0.90 feelings
- A-3 : Close threshold cos = 0.95 feelings
+ Trimming b : Parameter b defines the cutoff of the controller.
Choose 1 of 3 values according to the following table:
- b-1 : Threshold cos = 0.95 feelings
- b-2 : Threshold cos = 1.00
- b-3 : Threshold cos = 0.95 capacity
+ Closing time C: Parameter C determines the delay time when closing of the controller.
Choose 1 of 4 values according to the following table:
- C-1 : Closing time = 5 seconds
- C-2 : Closing time = 10 seconds
- C-3 : Closing time = 20 seconds
- C-4 : Closing time = 40 seconds
+ Trimming time d : The parameter d defines the delay time when cutting the controller.
Choose 1 of 4 values according to the following table:
- d-1 : Cut time = 30 seconds
- d-2 : Cut time = 60 seconds
- d-3 : Cut time = 90 seconds
- d-4 : Cut time = 120 seconds
- After selecting the setting values, press the [ Mode/Prog. ] about 2 seconds, the controller will come out of programming mode and save the new setting values into memory.
- This is a non-volatile-memory that won’t lose its content even if the power is off.
