Type C plug socket (Europe – 2 pins)

CEE 7/16 (Europlug):

This is a 2-pin plug, no ground wire. Or this pin is round, 4 mm in diameter, usually rounded at the top for ease of plugging. This type is also known as Europlug described in CEE 7/16. This is the most common type in the world, including Vietnam. It can be plugged into any socket with a 4.0 mm round hole spaced 19 mm apart. It is used in most European countries except the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ireland and Malta. A lot of developing countries use it. It is generally approved for use with Class II equipment with currents less than 2.5 A. It is symmetrical, and can be plugged in both directions. CEE 7/17:

This is a symmetrical plug that can be mistaken for an E or F type. It has 2 round pins like the above, but 4.8 mm in diameter, like types E and F, and a plastic shield doesn’t allow it. plugs into a small socket that the CEE 7/16 can get into. Only round drives for types E and F accept it. Perforated shield for the protruding ground pin of some types of electrical outlets. It is for class II equipment. This type of plug is also common in Vietnam. It is also defined in CEI 23-5.

Plug socket Type F (2-pin Germany, ground clamp)

CEE 7/4

Type F plug, CEE 7/4 or “Schuko plug”, used in Germany and some continental European countries, is the same as type E but uses two clamps on both sides to ground. Symmetrical Schuko electrical connections. It can withstand currents up to 16 amps. “Schuko” stands for the German word Schutzkontakt, meaning “safe contact”.

Type E hybrid F

The CEE 7/7 plug was born to be used with both Type E and F sockets: it has a grounding clip on both sides for contacting a CEE 7/4 outlet and a ground hole for contacting the ground pin of the E-type socket. E/F plug-in electrical appliances (CEE 7/7) can be used both in France and Germany. The CEE 7/7 plug is asymmetrical (only one way pluggable) when used with a type E outlet and symmetrical (with two options for plugging in) when used with a class F outlet.
