Mikro capacitor controller installation instructions
- See the punch hole size for the Mikro compensator controller in the catalog.
- Select the appropriate control voltage:
In our country, voltage is usually used at 220v or 380v. So we can try to use 220v or 415v supply voltage.
Note:
- If 220v is used, the input voltage to AUX VOLTAGE is 220v phase voltage. If you enter here, the voltage is 380v, the device is damaged.
- If 415v is used, the voltage applied to the line voltage.
- In case the power grid uses 3-phase 220V, 3-wire or 4-wire, the type with 220VAC power supply must be used.
Finally, choose the wiring diagram, different cases will have the corresponding wiring diagram.

A look at the function keys of the Mikro PFR60 . condenser controller
a : 3 7-segment LEDs showing values
b : 2 lights showing slow cos (IND) or fast cos (CAP)
c : LEDs show the status or parameters of each level
d : Up button : used to increase the value, switch menu…
e : Mod / Scrol button used to change the menu
f : Down button is used to adjust the value down, switch the menu…
g : Program button for setting parameters
h : indicator light for manual compensation (Manual) or automatic (Auto)
g : Indicator lights show parameters being monitored or set
Step 1: Set the coefficient cos(phi)
Power on the controller, press the MODE/SCROLL button until the Set Cos(phi) light comes on. Press the PROGRAMS button to allow the Cos(phi) factor to be adjusted. Press the UP or DOWN button to select the desired Cos(phi). This parameter is usually set from 0.90 to 0.98 inductance (The IND lamp in the b display is lit). Normally set Cos(phi)=0.95
Step 2: Set C/K Factor
The C/K factor of the Mikro condenser controller can be set automatically. However, if the installation is carried out at the installation workshop, we should manually set this factor, the capacitor controller will operate more accurately.
Before installing we need to know the coefficient CK to enter. This factor can be calculated using the formula as in the manual of the capacitor controller. We can also look up the approximate C/K coefficient in the following table:
C/k factor lookup table for 3 phase voltage 415V[/ caption]
Assume that we use a 6-level controller to control 4-level compensation, each capacitor level is 20KVar, 415V, and the current transformer used is 250/5A => The C/K coefficient is 0.56.
Adjustment: Press the MODE/SCROLL button until the C/K light is on. Press the PROGRAMS button to change the C/K value. Press the UP or DOWN button until the C/K coefficient is 0.56. Press the PROGRAMS button to confirm the C/K value change.
Step 3: Install capacitor steps
Assume that we use 4 levels with the same capacity of 20KVar. Press the MODE/SCROLL button until the RATED STEPS light comes on. Press the PROGRAMS button to change the capacitor steps value. At this time, we will see light 1 on. Press the PROGRAMS button to change this value. Press the UP or DOWN button until the value is 001. Press the PROGRAMS button to confirm the change. Press the UP button, the number 2 light is on. We proceed to change the step of capacitor 2 to 001 as above. Proceed to enter 001 for capacitor steps 3,4. Proceed to enter the values 000 for step capacitors 5,6 (because not used). Finish the set of capacitor steps.
Step 4: Install Mikro PFR60 driver
We will first install a manual compensation control program to check the operation of the contactors. Press the MODE/SCROLL button until the SWITCH PRO light comes on. Press the PROGRAMS button to change the control program. Press the UP or DOWN button to select a manual program (n-A). Press the PROGRAMS button to confirm the change.
To check the manual compensation control program, press the MODE/SCROLL button until the MANUAL light is on. Press the UP button one at a time and observe. If after each press, a contactor operates, the control circuit and the manual compensation program work well. Press the DOWN button to cut off the offset capacitor levels.
After checking the manual compensation control, we proceed to switch to the automatic compensation control program as follows:
Press the MODE/SCROLL button until the SWITCH PRO light comes on. Press the PROGRAMS button to change the control program. Press the UP or DOWN button to select the automatic control program (Aut). Press the PROGRAMS button to confirm the change.
The setting of the basic parameters for the Mikro condenser controller is complete. In most cases the controller will work. In case there is an error, we need to refer to the full manual for how to fix it.
Mikro condenser controller also has an additional warning function and setting cooling fan control for electrical cabinets. To install these functions, we need to refer to the user manual of the Mikro capacitor controller.
