How to calculate the capacity of the condenser cabinet based on the electricity bill
Instructions for calculating the required capacity of the capacitor bank based on the electricity bill
First of all, see if the electricity bill looks like the picture below?
- Introduction What is a capacitor and compensation capacitor reactive power
If the above yellow circled electricity bill of your business is 0, congratulations to your business for using electricity within the limit and in vain within the allowed level.
But if your electricity bill has the amount right in the yellow circle as above, it means that the business has made a mistake in excess of the limit and must pay a fine for that ineffective capacity.
How is this amount 6,785,888 calculated? How to get rid of that amount and only pay the monthly electricity bill in 3 prices?
According to the above electricity bill:
Invalid capacity fine:
(2,797,001 + 42,655,721 + 1,324,834 + 21,902,922 + 48,492 + 798,570)x9.76% = 6,785,888 VND
How to avoid paying the above fine?
The most effective solution today to completely eliminate the monthly unworked capacity penalty that all businesses have and have implemented is to install a capacitor bank to compensate for the ineffective capacity.
How much power compensation is enough? How much does the installation cost?
According to Circular 15/2014/TT-BCN dated May 28, 2014 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Regulations on buying and selling reactive power are summarized as follows:
The electricity buyer has a substation or does not have its own substation, but has the maximum utilization capacity registered in the power purchase and sale contract of 40kW or more and has a power factor cosφ < 0.9 then you have to buy reactive power. In which, the power factor cosφ used to determine the purchase of reactive power by the electricity buyer is calculated on the basis of the measured data at the power meter during a meter reading cycle.
In case the electricity purchaser has the maximum usage capacity registered in the contract of less than 40kW but has the maximum actual electricity usage capacity of 40 kW or more in 3 consecutive meter reading cycles, the electricity purchaser shall subject to purchase of reactive power from the next indexing cycle of the above 3 indexing cycles.
And the electricity buyer must pay the reactive power in the same period as the active power purchase. Invoices for purchasing reactive power comply with regulations of the Ministry of Finance.
For example electricity bill on then the Cosfi coefficient after being calculated is 0.82 with the plant’s load capacity reaching 800Kw. Amount of power to compensate:
We have a load capacity of P = 800 (KW). The power factor before compensation is cosφ1 = 0.82 → tgφ1 = 0.7 The power factor after compensation is Cosφ2 = 0.95 → tgφ2 = 0.33 So the reactive power to be compensated is Qb = P ( tgφ1 – tgφ2 ) Qoff = 800( 0.7 – 0.33 ) = 296 (KVAr)
With a capacity of 296 (Kvar) to compensate, the above factory only needs to install cabinets capacitors 300Kvar, then there will be no need to pay the penalty due to the monthly ineffective capacity.
The cost of installing 300Kvar capacitors on the market today is about 45 million VND
